Memphis to fall from the top of Division 1.
As the crown jewel of the Make Sure Wayne League of professional play-by-email soccer, the New York Trashtalkers franchise has returned in Season 19 to its rightful place among members of Division 1. While NYT has become a loss leader in more ways than one, there's not an owner or a fan in the league that doesn't understand how economically essential it is to have a successful, thriving franchise in the MSWL's largest market. The vast reservoir of disposable income and the enormous and socioculturally diverse populace provides the MSWL with its greatest growth potential.
The New York Trashtalkers have been wrongfully denied their rightful place atop the MSWL for too long. Onerous rules on the pitch and freedom-hating socialist revenue sharing have been just a part of the conspiracy to keep us down.
You may be laughing now, but the New York Trashtalkers are at the forefront of the change that is coming to our league. Our time is coming! We are the change we've been looking for!
In addition to fulfilling his roles as husband, father and media maven, James Patrick Montgomery Aloysius MacManus Wilkins Esq. is one of the giants of the MSWL. His longstanding stewardship of the New York Trashtalkers has provided the league with a steady hand and dynamic energy unparalleled among his fellow managers.
James hails from humble beginnings in Springfield, Illinois, where he grew up seeing his environs in both black and white. An interest in political science and journalism by day and "alternative" music by night led him on a journey that took him to the University of Illinois, where he befriended a young man you may have heard of named Allan Michael Sellers, and upon graduation, to New York City, where James worked for a variety of publications to pay the bills while pursuing his musical muse (so to speak).
Eventually, aging and its attendant dream-crushing realism set in, upon which he retired from semi-professional musicianship and rededicated himself to his publishing empire. After a few years adrift in the early 2000s, a wonderful young woman brought meaning back to life for James. A couple of years later, he took a leap of faith and committed to a life he never previously believed he would: marital bliss. After a few marital years enjoying a child-free household, James and the Mrs. endeavored to produce a descendant, and she arrived in the form of Katharine Patricia at the turn of the decade.
And such is the life of James Patrick Aloysius MacManus Wilkins Esq. in 2010.
