We really need a winning season again.
The joy of victory has left our changing room (that's the locker room to the West of Ponders) and we need to turn it around.
A cup team with a long tradition of finishing 9th in the 1st Division, HAS have struggled to make an impression for 4 or 5 seasons now. I think the line is, "we have been rebuilding." Well time is right for HAS to register a winning season and again become a side others fear to play.
So, we will try something different this season and join the trading circuit.
They (and I never worked out who "they" were) say that every players has a price. So everyone is for sale, if you offer enough. But Dave, be assured, no one will leave HAS, if the deal isn't too good for us to resist.
Please don't ask me to name my price, just offer what he is worth to you and let's see if we can do business.
BTW No agents please!
I think I arrived on the MSWL scene about season 7 and I am the proud owner of a couple of AP runners up medals and a couple of prized MSWL winners medals. I have a faint memory of a league season when we lead by 2 points with two games to go and ended up blowing it and finishing 3rd. Outside of that great league campaign HAS pretty much made 9th position in the league their own until a couple of seasons ago when the play-off finally relegated us.
I'm younger than John, yet I appeared on that blasted poll that still taunts me everytime I log on. Life tends to revolve around football but I do have 3 fantastic boys who go with me to all "Our Wee Countrys" home games. Having once been a director of my local team, Lisburn Distillery, I now follow them through the media, probably a victim of years of taking on too much to the point I got a sickener.
My other football love is Man City. I've followed them to the depths of the 3rd division and back and try to get over as often as possible to see them.
Oh, and I'm married to the long suffering Karen who has to put up with football, football, football.
I work when I have the time for Diageo, who have been paying the mortgage for 15 years now. Talking of mortgages, now we have plummeted into the credit crunch, I have only last week started work on a double extension at the back of the house. I know! I know!
In the last few months I have taken up archery but Robin Hood has little to fear.
